Jake started training Muay Thai in his hometown of Brisbane in 2009 with some school friends.  His first fight was early 2010, ever since then he fell in love with the challenge. 

A few fights later, he decided to take a training trip to Thailand for the first time of many, before spending 12 months there over the years. Capturing multiple stadium titles, securing 4 x world titles with 2 of the most prestigious sanctioning bodies in the sport, whilst being the only fighter in history to capture the state, national, international and world titles, he decided to have a break from the sport in 2019 and study a Diploma of Business at Tafe QLD whilst enjoying some time off.

2 years later, Jake had a big comeback year (2022) and took out the WBC diamond world title against George Mann making WBC history.
